2025. Trend in Interior

Trends from different spheres (fashion, technology, culture, art, music, design, politics, etc.) always intertwine and follow each other.

Every trend is a feature of a time in which we find ourselves.

For 2025, we can expect continuation of investment in technology, AI and smart systems, and the large-scale settlement of cities in which there is a large-scale construction of residential spaces and a lack of nearby green areas.

2025. Interior: Symphony of Nature, Technology and Personal Expression
Key three basic elements for interior design in 2025:
- biophilia - connection with the plant world (stemmed from the knowledge of the need of our body and spirit for nature after urban and busy everyday life)
- integration of technology and smart systems in homes
- spaces that will reflect our personality

Biophilia as a term was defined in ancient Greece as "love of life".

The concept was first introduced in 1964 by Erich Fromm through the study of the lack of connection with nature due to the urban lifestyle. The guiding concept is very simple: to connect people with nature in order to improve their quality of life.

Through the interior, this is achieved through the use of natural materials, by combining colors that are most abundant in nature, and by using organic shapes.

Different textures give depth to the space and enable the play of light and shadows.

Organic shapes bring harmony and give the interior a dynamic and intriguing note.

Together with the progress of technology the use of smart devices, systems and complete installations in homes is also starting. So we enable ourselves to turn on/off/adjust all lighting fixtures, blinds, curtains, electrical devices and cooling and heating devices, via mobile phone with the touch of a button or a simple voice command. Smart devices make our life simpler and more comfortable, but also give a touch of contemporary elegance to our home.

The development of the personality that it is okay to be different is also significant.

In addition to comfort and convenience, which are in the first place, interiors should have a touch of personal character , they should be realistic, human, warm and non-sterile.

The use of imperfect pieces of furniture or handmade pieces (pieces of furniture in the picture below " Crafts ") is significant, as well as the use of color in the interior.

Trend elements:

.

Carpets on the floors

At Milano Design Week, it was possible to see how well the "warm" variant of floors covered with carpets was promoted. Sometimes they were even placed on the walls as decorative elements. All this is a personification to encourage man to get closer to the environment tactilely and intimately.

.

Glass blocks

They became popular as a building material in the 1930s and 1940s, when complete facades were made of them. They are returning to the trend, especially for interiors. They provide a barrier and divide rooms while being transparent and allowing the flow of light. They can be in different colors and can add character to the room. They stimulate the senses and promote the connection of space

.

The light

Lighting has already gained importance and is extremely used in interiors, and this trend will continue. Well-planned lighting can greatly change a space, increase it visually, accentuate certain things, contribute to the atmosphere and is also an excellent decorative element.
